Gestüt Hofgut Heymann

A promising newcomer

Premiere for a new thoroughbred breeding operation in Germany! Gestüt Hofgut Heymann will be offering for the first time yearlings for sale at the BBAG sale. Wolfgang Heymann and Ulrike Feill started breeding here in 2007 and a year later were given official approval by the breeding commission of the Direktorium für Vollblutzucht und Rennen. The stud is on the site of a traditional farm on a plateau in Allgäu, between Memmingen and Ravensburg, which has been extensively renovated. There are more than 80 hectares of paddocks, 32 boxes, a covered yard for yearlings and three exercise rings. The beginnings were made two years ago with the purchase of four in-foal broodmares at the BBAG autumn sale. In the meantime the number of mares has increased to 19 as a result of selective purchases in England, Ireland, France and at Baden-Baden. Our choice of stallions has been very ambitious and demanding. We have for example sent mares to the Kildangan Stud in Ireland to be covered by such stars as Authorized, Cape Cross, Shamardal, Shirocco and Teofilo.
