Gestüt Brümmerhof

Cradle of many big winners

Gestüt Brümmerhof belongs to the Baum family and is situated near Soltau in the Lüneburger Heide. The stud has 110 hectares of paddocks and generous stabling for 80 mares, including their own mares and boarders. Originally an agricultural operation, it was transformed in 1989 by Gregor Baum into a stud farm for thoroughbreds. Gestüt Brümmerhof is now one of the top addresses in Germany. The resident stallion is Goofalik, a son of Lyphard and a member of the Northern Dancer sire line. He is a sire of classic and group winners and is also well on the way to becoming an important broodmare sire. Brümmerhof is a commercial stud and the entire crop of yearling colts is offered for sale; in the last four years it has been three times the leading consignor at the BBAG yearling sale. Three of the four highest ever prices for German yearlings at public auction were realised by Brümmerhof-breds. Champion filly Anna Monda is among the stars reared here, as well as Mc Cartney, who won the Champagne Stakes for Sheikh Mohammed in 2007, and this year´s group-winning filly Addicted.
