Schlossgut Itlingen

Traditional and modern

Schlossgut Itlingen has produced some outstanding results in the past and some of the top breeders, such as the Ostermann family, Walter Vischer, etc used this excellent soil to breed numerous champions and group winners. Since Graf und Gräfin Philipp von Stauffenberg took over the farm, they refurbished this historic estate, bringing it up to the highest modern standards. In the meantime the team at Schlossgut Itlingen achieved an international reputation for rearing not only top sales horses, but top racehorses as well. So far the biggest success came in 2008, when multiple group winner Lady Marian won the Prix de l’Opera, Gr.1. As only very few fillies are racing in the family colours, most of the horses bred, are consigned to the leading yearling and foal sales in Europe. As a result and under the motto ‘From here to the world’ Stauffenberg-bred runners have been winning races in nearly every leading country – alone 42 of the 149 races were won in England and Ireland. In addition leading international breeders, such as Faisal Salman and Shadwell use the excellent boarding service of Schlossgut Itlingen for their mares, mainly to be covered by leading German sire Monsun.
